In a recent survey, more than 40 percent of people reported that they feel like they’re judged based on their appearance. 40 percent! Are you one of them?
We all want to look our best, and that means having a smile worth, well, smiling about. But not all of us want the long term commitment that braces or other complicated dental procedures often require. Not to mention, once you’re past your teenage years, you may feel insecure about walking around with a mouth full of metal.
That’s where Six Month Smiles, this month’s Customer of the Month, comes in.
One of the best ways to make sure your customers have everything they need? Offer them subscription boxes, the hot gift idea of the year (that keeps on giving throughout the year). Not sure where to start? Don’t worry…in this post, we’re offering you some of our favorite subscription box ideas!
A Date in A Box
Especially when facing a major holiday, couples can feel as though, no matter what kind of date they plan, it won’t live up to the insane expectations of their partners (eh hem, a big sarcastic shout out to reality TV…no, thank you, really).
Help to alleviate shoppers’ stress by planning an awesome date and delivering it right to their loved one’s door. Why not curate a special date they can do right in their living room! Some of our favorite ideas include:
- recipes with the ingredients included (don’t forget the nice bottle of wine)
- seeds to grow their own herb garden (maybe pots and paint to decorate)
- a list of intimate questions to really get the convo flowing
At Custom Boxes Now, we know what it’s like to start your business from the ground up, and to believe in your idea enough to do anything to keep building it. After all, that was our attitude when we started our company 50 years ago! That’s just one of the reasons we’re so excited to introduce you to our Customer of the Month, Conquest Maps.
Five years ago, when Conquest Maps was starting out, their team would make their own shipment boxes by hand, sitting on the floor wielding cardboard stock, a ruler, and a utility knife.
If you have a teenager at home, or if you’re simply really into the wormhole known as YouTube, chances are you’ve run across unboxing Videos. Incredibly popular across all age and product ranges, these videos consist of popular “vloggers” showing their followers the arrival and packaging of a coveted product, and unwrapping it for their viewers. It’s a way to recreate the excitement of making a purchase for everyone watching.

But unboxing videos are far from just a passing fad. According to CNN, the number of YouTube videos with “unboxing” in the video title has increased by 871%. So how can you harness that power for your own products? Here, we’ll show you how to tap into the market through the use of custom print boxes, and discuss how you can harness the power of unboxing videos for brand awareness.

What’s Your Budget?
Of course, this goes without saying – but be sure you’re evaluating the budget for your custom printed boxes accurately, and consider doing a bulk order. Keep in mind, it may cost more initially to make a custom bulk order, but it will probably save you money in the long run.
With more ways to reach potential clients than ever before, consumers are constantly bombarded with in-your-face, ultra-aggressive marketing tactics. “Overwhelmed” describes the experience of most consumers in the Internet age.
With the influx of excess, sometimes the best way to stand apart from the crowd is to create minimalist product packaging. Give your customers a break, and let the integrity of your products do the talking. Here, we’re giving you some of our favorite ideas for minimalist packaging.
If you’ve got a Pinterest account, more than one follower on Instagram or a savvy teen who keeps getting gorgeous monthly packages in the mail, no doubt you’ve heard of subscription boxes—and you’re probably not going to be surprised to learn just how lucrative these specialized mailing services can be.
The subscription box business model has become the darling of entrepreneurs in the past few years, especially since they might mean that business owners won’t have to pay sky-high rents on brick-and-mortar shops. This relatively new way of doing business can result in substantially lower overhead and a potentially much larger profit margin than more traditional business models have. Maybe you’ve even considered starting a subscription box business for your home business or your existing company. It may seem like all fun and games (not to mention “likes” and “retweets”), but there are many things to keep in mind before starting your own subscription-based business. Let’s talk about some of the different aspects of subscription services, including what items work best and the importance of the actual custom boxes the products arrive in.
Have your sales been in a slump for a while? Have you redesigned your store layout or website, beefed up your social media presence and created loyalty plans—but you’re still not seeing the kind of uptick in sales and subscriptions that you need? It might be time to consider that what’s holding you back isn’t your products, it’s your packaging. If you haven’t re-evaluated your packaging in a while, it’s time to have a serious conversation about the benefits of redesigning how you package your products.
A lot of thought goes into packaging redesign…like, how do you know when to make a change? And, if your packaging is current, should you switch things up with the seasons or upcoming holidays, or to highlight special store events and sales? Let’s take a look at when it’s time for a package redesign.
At Custom Boxes Now, we love highlighting some of our favorite clients every month. It’s always tough to narrow it down to a single favorite, but this month, we’re highlighting the ever-fun Datebox. Datebox is at fun-filled couples’ subscription box service that adds some excitement to long-term relationships or helps newer couples get to know each other even better.
Let’s face it: planning a date every weekend, no matter how much your city has to offer, can sometimes feel like a daunting task. Datebox takes the anxiety out of planning the date by delivering a “readymade” box including everything you need for a memorable and totally unpredictable night with your better half. The best part? All the dates can be done at home, so you can avoid the stress of having to catch a cab, sit in traffic or fight the exhaustion after a long week of being on the go.
It doesn’t matter what you’re shipping, we understand that finding the right shape, size and type of box is just as important as the custom design we can create for you. But if you’re at a loss as to which box you should use, don’t panic. Custom Boxes Now offers every option imaginable—and if you don’t see it, we can create it. Let us take the guesswork out of custom shipping box shapes.
Keep It Simple: Familiar, Basic Container Box Options
First up, there’s the regular slotted container, which is probably what comes to mind when you think of a traditional shipping box. With the right packing materials, they can be used to ship almost anything, and they generally require tape to seal. Still, we recommend that if it’s possible to use a smaller size box, go for it. Cut out unnecessary bulk. In another common box style, the Full Overlap Container (FOL), each flap folds over the other. This is ideal for extra heavy items, especially since these won’t bend as easily.
The Regular Slotted Container (RSC) box style is the most common box style.
